ASCENT, formerly the Telecommunications Resellers Association (TRA), is the nation's premier trade group representing entrepreneurial and small business communications companies.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the association works with the industry, legislators, regulators and the public in an effort to open all communications markets to full and fair competition.

ASCENT is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors who are elected at the association's Annual Meeting held each year during the Spring Conference & Exhibition. Each year three new Board members are elected to a three-year term. The Chairman of the Board is elected annually by the Board.

ASCENT members pledge their support to a Code of Ethics prescribing professional selling and operational practices, generally recognizing their obligation to provide quality services with reasonable rates, terms and conditions and to put customer satisfaction above all else.
